Lisi Lake Waterfront Mixed-Use Development

master plan & site design | tblisi, georgia

This project, located on 355-hectares just north Georgia’s capital city Tbilisi, was designed as Georgia’s first wholly sustainable mixed use development. The planning effort was challenged by the site’s steep topography and the existing depleted water table. Working with the project team, Andropogon created an environmental framework to guide the master planning and development process that was based on an understanding the site’s cultural and natural resources, including hydrology, geology, and regional context. This approach helped accommodate a dense program of new neighborhoods, public plazas, recreational facilities, restaurants, shopping, schools, and civic amenities while restoring the natural function and character to the site.
